In the late 1920’s our great-grandfather was working in the oil fields under the cruel communist dictatorship of Romania. Winters at that time were extremely harsh and unforgivable with temperatures of up to 70° C below freezing. Working the oil fields at that time was a matter of life and death. Our great-grandfather realized that he has to create a better path for his children. He started doing custom woodwork, such as custom windows, doors and furniture . In 1941 there  was a competition set up by the government to bring to light some of the most skillful carpenters that Romania has to offer. Our great-grandfather decided he must participate. This won him 1st place and a chance to finally showcase his brilliant work. The piece that he showcased was a highly custom hand-sculpted judge’s desk. As a recognition from the government for his amazing work, the piece of art was showcased in the city center. Unfortunately in 1944, World War II came to Romania. Our city, which was 27 km from where we grew up,  was completely leveled, along with our great-grandfather’s beautiful piece of art. Even though they were able to destroy that piece of art, they were unable to destroy his skills and love for woodworking. Fast forward 41 years later, after fighting communism for 10 years for a chance at a better life, our grandparents immigrated to the United States. Soon after that, our father also immigrated with his eight children.

       In May of 1996 our father felt a deep calling and responsibility to create a brighter future for his eight children. Therefore, he started a little cabinet shop in Duluth, Georgia. That’s when the seed of Diamond Kitchen and Bath was planted. We are a company that specializes in the design, creation and renovation of exclusive, high-quality kitchens and bathrooms.
